RIP JD Salinger
herooftheproletariat:
However…anyone that tells you The Catcher In The Rye is their favorite book needs to read more.
A lot more.
Totally agree! It’s a huge pet-peeve of mine when people gush over how much they love Catcher in the Rye, and they really relate to Holden Caulfield… Get a grip

The Orange team and I took on Dark Blue on Sunday morning, I really was off my game. I separated my shoulder 4 weeks ago and tore my AC, so this was only my second game back. I played terrible, every piece of my game was off, and I struggled through the 4 quarters. Hopefully I can redeem myself in our next game.
Infiltrating the Rutgers Football Training Facility:
I went snooping around the Rutgers Football Facility on Saturday. I checked out the weight room, players lounge, training room, coaches offices, etc… It was really cool to see the inner working of a top flight Division I football team close up.
Descent of Mt. Washington on the Nelson Craig Trail:
Going down this trail was Blake’s idea, and we all followed him into the dark and menacing forest. It was overgrown, steep, and rocky. We laughed, we cried, we bled.
The final steps to the summit of Mt. Washington, made by Blake & Jake.
I caught Blake dancing to George Michael’s “Faith” during our stay in Billings Lodge in the White Mountains this past summer

A very interesting video I saw on Gizmodo a few weeks ago, and forgot to blog it.
The decade according to 9-year-olds:
Allison Louie-Garcia interviewed a handful of kids born in 2000. The resulting video serves as a reminder of how much has changed in the last decade. The children discuss their first MP3 players, recall using computers at age two, and marvel over the sounds of a dial-up modem....
Footage from my meal at Katz’s Famous Delicatessen, I just set the camera up on the table and let it roll while I ate. I failed to check what I was actually shooting, but I think it came out pretty cool.
The match-up you’ve all been waiting for:
Goat vs. Buffalo
Sarah and I witnessed this epic match-up at a farm near the end of October.
FOTM mentioned this yesterday on his blog, seen here, and luckily I DVR every episode of Jeopardy & Wheel of Fortune, so it was easy to pull up the moment her was taking about. Three separate contestants can not correctly pronounce “Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa,” one guy gets two chances at it too. Really funny, I have never seen anything like this.
2010 will be the year of Son of Raging Joe
