“I’ve been working in this business since 1962”

Said by some guy at a distributor about an order issue he had. He tryed to explain to me that I messed up his order because he sent it in too late for it to go out next day air. Which begs the question, if you have been working in this business for 47 years, shouldn’t you know the cut off time for sending in orders? Also, shouldn’t you have been promoted to a higher position than order entry after 47 years?
